Carrot Puree
Carrots are an excellent weaning food as babies like their naturally sweet taste. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene and other nutrients such as Vitamin A, C and calcium.
Serves: 12 ozs Carrot Purée
Age: 4 months old / Baby’s 1st Foods
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Carrots
- Water
Instructions
- Wash, peel and cut the carrots into ½ inch pieces.
- Steam the carrots until tender (usually 15 to 20 mins).
- Once the carrots are cooked, put them to cool.
- Reserve the cooking liquid separately.
- Purée the carrots in a food processor with some of the cooking liquid.
- Add more of the cooking liquid and blend until the purée is the desired consistency.
- To make the puree thinner, you may add cooking liquid, water, breast milk, or formula.
